About The Position

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Municipal Services Department at its headquarters in Wall Township, New Jersey. The role supports municipal clients throughout New Jersey with the planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of municipal infrastructure and capital improvement projects. The Project Engineer leads assigned technical work, coordinates designs across disciplines, and supports projects through permitting and construction. The position also involves client and public meetings, construction administration, and field activities, with opportunities to take on increasingly complex assignments and develop technical judgment and project management experience. FPA is an employee-owned, mid-sized engineering and consulting firm. The compensation range is $90,000 to $115,000, with actual compensation dependent on experience, education, qualifications, and skills. The company also offers an annual bonus program. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
4–8 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering or public infrastructure projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of municipal design standards and permitting processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Support the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects, including roadway improvements, drainage systems, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, and capital improvement programs.
Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and construction documents in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Develop plans, profiles, and details using design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and other disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Interface with municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and utility providers to support project approvals and permitting efforts.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals during construction.
Provide construction support, including responding to field inquiries and performing site visits as needed.
Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and coordination meetings.
Assist with cost estimates, schedules, and project budgets.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
