About The Position

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Project Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the Platform Computing & Displays Team on a proprietary program. This person will provide overall project engineering oversight for the development of an advanced platform mission processor that will combine modern mission management as well as displays management in an advanced mission systems architecture as part of the Core Mission Systems team. Working with the Project Hardware Engineer, Product Owner, and multiple hardware, software and support teams within the program, the Project Engineer will ensure that hardware, firmware, and infrastructure products are developed to all appropriate standards and delivered to a variety of lab and air vehicle end points on an aggressive schedule. The key to this position is the ability to work effectively both horizontally across multiple teams within and outside the program covering all aspects of the system development, as well as communicating effectively vertically throughout both the Supply Chain and Customer domains. Ensuring all stakeholders are aware of and executing as necessary to advance this critical program is central to the position.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 9+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
• Requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Responsibilities

• Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
• Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
• Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
• Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
• Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
• Makes recommendations for technology investments.
