About The Position

Charter Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to join their Remediation Team in Portland. The role involves providing administrative and technical support to Project Managers and Superintendents, assisting with bids, project setup, and project management. Requirements

  • Some construction field experience REQUIRED
  • 1 year minimum of construction office experience REQUIRED
  • 2 to 3 years of experience supporting projects in condos, apartments, HOAs, or residential/commercial buildings. REQUIRED
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients
  • Good written communication for logs, RFIs, submittals, and documentation
  • Eager to learn, especially in building envelope remediation, condo/apartment project workflows, and construction documentation.
  • Familiarity with reading plans, performing takeoffs, and assisting with estimating
  • Good Computer skills - (Microsoft Excel and Outlook) REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

  • Construction Management Degree or Certificate preferred
  • Familiarity with Project Management software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate takeoffs.
  • Assist with material pricing and project estimating.
  • Track and enter purchase orders.
  • Prepare, submit and track subcontractors, supply agreements, and change orders.
  • Obtain subcontractor certifications and compliance reports.
  • Request, track, and pre-review subcontractor lien releases and subcontractor pay apps.
  • Process submittals, change orders, RFIs with clients and subcontractors and maintain accurate logs of all correspondence.
  • Perform project schedule maintenance, report issues to Project Manager.
  • Manage project documentation (daily reports, inspections, photos, etc.) and distribute.
  • Ensure all correspondence, documents, and drawings are received, dated, and logged in.
  • Manage OAC meeting minutes and distribute them to team members.
  • Act as liaison between Project Managers, Superintendents, Clients and Subcontractors.
