POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, Central Region and working closely with the National Director of Engineering, you will manage major projects across plants in Ontario and provide support throughout other Canadian sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical), combined with project management experience (projects up to $2M);
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SmartSheets or an equivalent project management tool;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading/managing small-, medium-, and large-scale projects;

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (French and English) would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and develop plans; define and establish schedules, detailed budgets, and installation and commissioning plans to achieve project objectives; assess and manage risks and allocate available resources across the various phases of each project;
  • Execute, manage, and coordinate project activities to ensure objectives are achieved within established timelines and approved budgets;
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders involved in each project, including plant operations/maintenance teams, R&D teams, procurement and accounts payable teams, external contractors and suppliers, consultants/engineering firms, regulatory bodies, and municipalities;
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and the ability to define, develop, and lead multidisciplinary projects with strong business acumen. The successful candidate will actively work with a national team leading large-scale multidisciplinary projects focused on construction management, equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and project close-out;
  • Prepare project reports for management and other stakeholders, and remain adaptable to change by adjusting project scope, schedule, and/or budget as required;
  • Oversee the technical content of procedures and control programming for training purposes when needed;
  • Resolve technical issues and challenges identified during the design, engineering, installation, and commissioning phases—whether for a single piece of equipment, a complete production line, or an entire manufacturing facility;
  • Perform all other related duties in accordance with Sika Canada Inc.’s health and safety procedures;
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and within budget;
  • Excellent skills in design, planning, organization, and communication;
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving with proven critical thinking and sound judgment;
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivering projects from start to finish with minimal supervision or support;
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance codes (OHSA, building code, electrical code, and environmental regulations), with experience working with regulatory bodies and municipalities.
