About The Position

Our capabilities cover a full suite of millwrighting services, including installing, setting, aligning, and leveling machinery and equipment, as well as dismantling, refurbishing, reassembling, and moving. Additionally, our expertise covers close tolerance and precision alignment, as well as fabrication, concrete construction, and industrial HVAC solutions. This role assists with the execution and management of project needs, prepares and presents computer-generated spreadsheets and reports, and maintains regular communication and collaboration with the entire project team. The Project Engineer will generate, maintain, and facilitate project documentation for all phases of the project, including requests for information, submittals, drawings, specifications, purchase orders, material orders, change orders, and close-out documents. This position also performs material take offs from drawings to help generate estimates and changes. The role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and integrity, with flexibility in assigned work environment and project locations. The Project Engineer will support the Project Superintendent and Project Manager with day-to-day field operations such as material expediting, time keeping, RFI's, submittals, design team coordination, and confirming installed quantities for scheduling and reporting. Please note: This position does not do design work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field; OR 2 years’ prior experience in related field via internships, co-ops, and/or industry employment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in utilizing a wide range of computer software.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-training certification, Journeyman license, and field experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional, first-class customer service.
  • Assist with the execution and management of project needs.
  • Prepare and present computer-generated spreadsheets and reports.
  • Maintain regular communication and collaboration with entire project team, including Project Foreman, Project Manager, General Contractor, Architect/Engineer, and other subcontractors.
  • Generate, maintain, and facilitate project documentation in the execution of the construction processes for all phases of the project. This will include, but is not limited to, requests for information, submittits, drawings, specifications, purchase orders, material orders, change orders, close-out documents, etc.
  • Perform material take offs from drawings to help generate estimates and changes.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, efficiency, and integrity in all aspects of the work.
  • Maintain flexibility with assigned work environment and assigned project locations.
  • May be required to commute to various jobsite locations.
  • Attend and conduct meetings as required.
  • Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
  • Support the Project Superintendent and Project Manager with day to day field operations such as material expediting, time keeping, RFI's, submittals, design team coordination, walking down the installed scope of work to confirm quantity's installed that will feed into the schedule and other reporting functions.
