Job Summary: The Project Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will direct and coordinate activities regarding management of projects related to sustaining and expansion activities for the Spanish Fork location. Lead capital projects involving the integration of new technology into existing legacy equipment and infrastructure, ensuring compatibility, reliability, and long-term maintainability. Manage projects ranging from several hundred thousand to multi‑million‑dollar budgets, with durations from a few months up to 18 months. Deliver projects with strong cost and schedule discipline, including the ability to adapt to evolving priorities, scope changes, and approved budget adjustments. Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and external contractors to ensure seamless execution, commissioning, and handover. Develop sound HSE practices and maintain significant contractor management controls throughout the duration of projects. Design and develop machinery specifications and construction specifications with safety of current and future employees as the focal point of design criteria. All new projects must strictly adhere to Hydro’s New Equipment HSE start-up procedures before assets are activated and turned over to operations. Analyze available technology, production needs and existing resources to determine project feasibility. Ensure that the new asset specifications are fully and correctly defined and documented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Industrial or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of Project Management experience.

  • Experience managing capital projects in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
