About The Position

Carmel Partners, a leading private equity real estate investment firm specializing in multi-family projects, is seeking a Project Engineer with experience in wood-frame, residential construction Project Management. The role involves assisting the Project Manager with the planning and daily execution of construction projects, leveraging experience to improve project delivery and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience in Commercial or Residential Construction preferred.
  • Extensive computer knowledge: Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as Construction and Project management software, consisting of Smartsheet, Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen after a conditional offer of employment is made.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Multifamily project experience.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training within the last 5 years.
  • First Aid and CPR training within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with the planning and execution of the construction project(s).
  • Support the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Manage the procurement and submittal logs.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with the Contract Documents and manage approvals with the design team.
  • Coordinate shop drawings, material interface, access, and routing with the Subcontractors and Design Team.
  • Manage preparation of mock-ups for Owner approval.
  • Support project quality control by inspecting work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance with the Contract Documents and Design Intent.
  • Assist Superintendent with site logistics planning.
  • Assist the Project Manager with developing scopes of work, bid package development, bid analysis, and quantity take-off’s to support project buyout.
  • Manage drawing and document issuance including design updates as well as Requests for Information.
  • Assist Project Manager with Change Management.
  • Manage project closeout and preparation of closeout documents.
  • Manage consultant, city, and internal punch list correction.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws (e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc.).
