About The Position

This Job Description applies to the designing of and technical support of new mechanical products used for drilling and completing Oil & Gas wells (i.e. premium connections, including tubing and casing.) Safety and Health is an absolute priority; therefore it is everyone’s responsibility to stay diligent and follow the organizations rigorous safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience in design or manufacturing experience with oilfield mechanical products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
  • Experience with CAD, preferably Solidworks.
  • Ability to read, write and speak well in English.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions through strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to pass applicable testing as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable in Drilling and Completion operations and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and documenting Research and Development Projects.
  • Developing and documenting connection designs.
  • Performing and documenting FEA on connection designs.
  • Developing testing programs and for evaluating and documenting the test results.
  • Developing product specifications.
  • Authoring and presenting technical presentations and papers for internal and external distribution.
  • Providing support in connection to product commercialization activities for other VAM USA departments.
  • Participating in professional and industrial organizations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Engineering Group Leader and/or R&D General Manager.
