About The Position

As a Project Engineer, you are responsible for the design and construction of NewCold worksites and installations, from the business development phase through final handoff to operations. You will use your technical expertise to move projects forward and collaborate closely with the Technical Services Team in the Netherlands. The position is based out of NewCold’s USA Headquarters in the Chicagoland area and involves travel to the Atlanta area up to 50% of the time.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant design and engineering experience.
• Strong background in Project Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working in a dynamic, global working environment.
• Ability to work out of the USA Headquarters in the Chicagoland area.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to the Atlanta area.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or construction engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of NewCold buildings and their technical installations.
• Prepare tender packages for the general contractor and other subcontractors.
• Monitor the engineering process for quality and Total Cost of Ownership.
• Organize on-site quality control during project execution.
• Lead technical due diligence for prospective sites, coordinating zoning, utility, environmental, geotechnical, and permitting matters.
• Provide feedback and lessons learned on the Standard Design.
