About The Position

Olsson’s Rail Traffic team combines traffic engineering with railroad coordination and project delivery. The team supports engineers in developing technical expertise and project management skills through client interaction, project coordination, and ownership of project delivery activities. Work involves Class I railroads, state DOTs, local agencies, and other consultants on projects intended to improve safety and mobility nationwide.

The Project Engineer assists with traffic and preemption analysis and design. The role includes site visits, contributing to the review and preparation of plans and/or studies, and collaborating with team members on complex projects. Occasional travel to job sites for observation and to attend client meetings is expected.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 6+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Synchro, or similar software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• Strong problem-solving and math skills.

Responsibilities
