About The Position

Ozark Aeroworks LLC (OZARK) is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the OZARK Model T53 Turbine Engine. OZARK also provides comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, including fuel accessories, machining, and welding capabilities for expedited component repairs. Both OEM and MRO operations are located at our Springfield, MO facility. Our primary MRO product lines include the T53 Engine, T53 Fuel Controls and Governors, and Rolls-Royce M250 Engine (specifically C47, C30, and C20 models). As the OEM, OZARK is a full-service provider of new parts, MRO, and engineering services. OZARK is recognized as the leader in T53 Engine services, known for its MRO capabilities and strong customer commitment. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services globally, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulations and industry standards. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our skilled team. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering and/or equivalent proven work experience as a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer or similar role.
  • 3 to 10 years in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Product Development Management Software, and SolidWorks.
  • Must have valid authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of aerospace systems, methodologies, and terminology is desired.
  • A background in aviation; rotary wing or fixed wing services is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily workings of all assigned projects, working closely with OEM/MRO teams and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
  • Apply engineering knowledge in new product design and development, including new definitions and requirements.
  • Develop 3D models and create detailed drawings and requirements that meet the fit, form, and function of various engine components.
  • Manage engineering project tasks by organizing and controlling specific project elements.
  • Utilize project management tools to track and report on project details.
  • Be actively involved and hands-on with tasks, projects, and other duties as needed.
  • Apply problem-solving methods to pertinent issues as they arise.
  • Develop test plans and support research and development projects for OEM and MRO.
  • Create article solid models, drawings, design test fixtures and full test setups, and perform article analysis.
  • Provide timely updates on project performance and identify roadblocks to project completion.
  • Interface with suppliers on technical questions and provide engineering guidance to support vendor fabrication of components.
  • Prepare and brief leadership and key stakeholders on project performance, gaps, actions, and needs.
  • Maintain concise communication, both verbal and written, within a multi-disciplinary group.
  • Communicate professionally and build relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
