About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by leading capital engineering projects that support Growth, Cost Reduction, EHS improvement, and Equipment/Facility Renewal. You will lead teams including electrical, facilities, design, technical experts, and operations to deliver project expectations. You will utilize project engineering fundamentals (scope, budget, schedule, forecasting, communication, financial analysis) to deliver the best outcome for 3M.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree/Technical Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institute and five (5) years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or project management in a private, public, government or military environment OR Bachelor’s or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and three (3) years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or project management in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
  • Failure to provide the necessary information in regard to U.S. Export Control Laws will result in our inability to consider you further for this particular position.
  • All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) year of combined experience in Capital equipment and/or Facilities project management in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Prior experience with webline, extrusion, material handling, or inspection equipment
  • Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment
  • Proficient user of typical business, office, and technical software for tasks such as spreadsheet computation and/or project presentation/scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital engineering projects that support Growth, Cost Reduction, EHS improvement, and Equipment/Facility Renewal.
  • Lead teams including electrical, facilities, design, technical experts, and operations to deliver project expectations.
  • Utilize project engineering fundamentals (scope, budget, schedule, forecasting, communication, financial analysis) to deliver the best outcome for 3M.
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties.
  • Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
