About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Project Engineer specializing in Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Design to join their Resilience Water Team in Southern California. This role involves tackling water-related challenges such as quality, scarcity, reuse, management, and resilience by developing sustainable solutions. The position offers opportunities to support, manage, and drive project development, interact with clients, and enhance technical and professional skills while collaborating with experienced Water Professionals.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in engineering and consulting, primarily related to the municipal water market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater design and construction.
  • Ability to lead engineering tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, hydraulic modeling software, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, develop design solutions, and collaborate effectively with project teams.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license in California.
  • Experience providing engineering services during construction.
  • Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree in a related field.
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
  • Experience in supporting municipal water and wastewater clients.
  • Experience preparing design calculations, construction plans, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Experience contributing to project delivery through progressively responsible engineering roles.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and delivering engineering services in local California water and wastewater markets.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage tasks and projects for the design and construction of Water/Wastewater distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations, and/or treatment plants.
  • Assist with the development of design and construction documents, such as reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
  • Provide support in the construction administration of projects, ensuring efficient management and adherence to guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, requiring strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Perform local travel for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning, or construction oversight as needed.
