About The Position

Join an industry-leading industrial equipment manufacturer as a Project Engineer to lead high-impact capital expenditure projects and equipment implementation initiatives. You will manage cross-functional projects focused on improving plant safety, product quality, process throughput, and operational efficiency. In this role, you will integrate Lean Manufacturing principles, advanced CAD modeling, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize metal fabrication and assembly processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Welding Engineering (or 6+ years of equivalent hands-on technical experience).
  • 2+ years of experience leading capital projects focused on new manufacturing equipment or automated assembly systems
  • 2–4 years of engineering project experience within a metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in CAD design tools, with hands-on experience in Creo, AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER, or SolidWorks
  • Demonstrated application of Lean Manufacturing techniques, including FMEA, process mapping, capability studies, and root cause analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general manufacturing execution software.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical project leader for the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment, assembly systems, and production lines.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and technical specifications for capital equipment procurement to lower operating costs and ensure process capability.
  • Analyze existing equipment, tooling, and procedures to identify root causes of downtime, scrap, and cycle-time bottlenecks.
  • Specify and design tooling, custom jigs, and specialized production fixtures in collaboration with cross-functional manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Develop standardized operating processes and Visual Work Instructions to ensure consistent floor execution and operator safety.
  • Execute process mapping, FMEA, and capability studies to drive continuous improvement across sheet metal and structural assembly operations.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, quality, and purchasing departments to deliver daily troubleshooting and keep plant equipment running at peak performance.
