About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join their Civil/Site Discipline in Arizona. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in water/wastewater analysis and design. The company has extensive experience with significant projects in master-planned communities, retail, office, educational, healthcare, mixed-use developments, and public works. This position is based in Arizona, with flexible office locations in Phoenix, the East Valley (Gilbert/Chandler), or the West Valley (Goodyear/Tolleson). The Water Infrastructure team focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure projects for public and municipal providers, private utilities, and developers across Arizona, covering the full project lifecycle from planning and design to construction engineering and startup support. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field.
  • 4-7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in AZ or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Sound engineering fundamentals, including hydraulic principles.
  • Demonstrates strong technical skills and can prepare design on various water and wastewater projects.
  • Computer skills required with proficiency in MS Office Suite and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Displays sound organizational, judgment, and technical skills.
  • Attention to detail, quality of work, and client service.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage and meet multiple critical deadlines.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in water distribution and wastewater collection facilities design, which may include pump stations, storage reservoirs, well sites, lift stations, water mains, and sewer mains.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Bentley Products (WaterCAD, SewerCAD, Hammer), and/or InfoWater.
  • Possesses an understanding of state, local, and private utility engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, as part of an engineering team, construction documents for water booster pump stations, water storage facilities, groundwater treatment facilities, groundwater wells, sewer pump stations, reclaim water systems, and water and sewer mains.
  • Prepares construction documents, including construction plans, basis of design reports, and technical specifications.
  • Prepares water and wastewater planning and engineering documents in support of land development and site development projects.
  • Prepares hydraulic models and studies of water and wastewater systems.
  • Coordinates with team members, staff, private utilities, municipalities, consultants, and clients.
  • Provides construction phase engineering support in the form of submittal reviews, RFI responses, engineer-of-record services, and startup and commissioning support.
  • Responsible for quality control, schedules, and plan production.
  • Delegates work and provides technical guidance to assure design is technically sound and cost-efficient.
  • Assists with project and team management and mentors other design staff.
  • Processes plans and resolves issues with plan reviewers.
