About The Position

Parsons is looking for a talented Project Engineer - Traffic to join their team full-time to support large transformative transportation projects across the nation. These projects involve delivering designs with construction values greater than $1 billion, aimed at enhancing mobility, safety, and reliability for communities. The position is remote, allowing for virtual collaboration with Parsons teams nationwide. Parsons is a leading design-build firm with a global presence, known for engineering some of the country's most challenging projects. This role offers career-defining opportunities on high-visibility Design-Build and Public Private Partnership (P3) projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
  • Experience in various types of engineering projects (Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, Progressive Design-Build, etc.) is a must.
  • High level of proficiency with the methodologies of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Signal Warrant studies.
  • Expertise in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with traffic engineering is required.
  • SYCHRO, HCS, VISSIM and SIDRA combination of expertise is required.
  • PE Registration is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Microstation or AutoCAD proficiency is preferred.
  • Knowledge of roadway lighting and Intelligent Transportation Systems design is also highly desirable but not required.
  • PTOE certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of traffic signal design, signal timing, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans.
  • Supervising analysis, design and implementation of projects such as corridor studies, traffic impact studies, alternative intersection design, and traffic operational analysis.
  • Provide support for other engineering activities as required and supervising one or more subordinates, providing input regarding performance.
  • Serve as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on an intermediate to large-scale project.
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Take part in Parsons’ quality management plan to implement QA/QC procedures
