About The Position

The Project Engineer (Structural & Restoration) primarily performs engineering tasks and assists with project management throughout the project cycle from initial forensics / schematics through to construction. Projects include a wide variety of building types such as hospitals, condominiums, schools, government facilities and commercial offices. This position is rooted in structural engineering with a varying balance of work on new structures and the restoration of existing structures and building envelopes. An essential part of this role is working as part of a project team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines, while providing quality control and quality assurance to ensure these deliverables are on-time and of a high quality. This position will play a critical role in balancing and maintaining internal team needs with the needs of the client to produce a successful project outcome. This is a unique opportunity for an entry level engineer seeking a position that will bolster their professional growth. Requirements

  • B.S. in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Must have passed the FE exam and hold EIT certification.
  • 0-2 years of project engineering experience
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills are essential for the success of this position

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree with structural emphasis is preferred
  • Working knowledge of engineering software such as STAAD, RISA, ETABS, ADAPT, SAFE, Ram Structural System, Enercalc, AutoCAD and Revit a plus.
  • Knowledge of façade materials

Responsibilities

  • Performing analysis and design for new or existing structures
  • Preparing plans, specifications and bid documents
  • Field work including forensic evaluations on existing buildings
  • Writing technical reports
  • Coordination with clients (architects, other engineers, general contractors, property managers and condo associations)
  • Construction administration including review of shop drawings, responding to contractor requests for information, field observations and pay application review
