Manage and coordinate field engineering related to all building works, reviewing construction deliverables for technical compliance and project schedules. Collaborate with Site Manager for costs tracking, projections and follow-ups. Review subcontractors monthly progressive payment requests. Work with Superintendent, Site Manager, Field Engineers and subcontractors to plan, schedule and execute the works. Schedule weekly coordination meetings with trades and designers. Collect & analyze information & data from drawings Monitor use of resources. Ensure proper cost allocation. Identify cost over run risks and assist the site manager in developing techniques to control & overcome. Identify & report occurrences of Variations & Claims events in line with the Site manager. Collaborate with internal departments (Safety, Quality, Environmental) to ensure that all project requirements are met. Review and draft method statements in collaboration with subcontractor to ensure technical, safety and environmental compliance of the works. Follow design evolution, monitor change in quantities and track its impacts on construction. Thoroughly document the construction process, flag deviations, and monitor corrections. Assist in pricing and procuring work packages and estimates as required. Confirm project specifications through engineering research and related analysis. Ensure constructions materials comply with technical specifications and project budget. Assist in the technical monitoring and design of project schedules, construction plans and construction procedures. Promote a culture of ‘no injury or harm to people’ and lead by example. Consult and communicate with all personnel on WHS matters, procedures, instructions, etc. Comply with all South Fraser Station Partners (SFSP) policies and procedures. Comply with the Safety and Environmental Responsibilities outlined in ACCIONA’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Structural/Civil engineering projects.
  • Drafting and writing work plans.
  • Estimating & Pricing construction scopes.
  • Good working knowledge of design processes and experience in the application of quality systems.
  • Undergraduate and/or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Project engineer/coordinator role.
  • Expertise in MS Office suite and standard engineering software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of drawing software Autodesk AutoCAD and other modeling software is an asset.
