About The Position

TRATON R&D US is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with experience in embedded software development for commercial trucks and buses. The Embedded Software Engineer will be part of a team responsible for delivering software in a High-Performance Compute (HPC) control module that interfaces to a driver display/instrument cluster in the vehicle providing information and feedback to the driver on many aspects of the vehicle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 5 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 3 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience
  • PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 1 year of product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document software requirements based on functional requirements
  • Design and implementation of C++ software
  • Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, and technical discussions to ensure software quality
  • Perform unit testing of software builds using Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and on target
  • Oversee the C++ software development of offshore engineers to address questions and facilitate their success
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams located globally to commonize on development processes and resolve issues
  • Support troubleshooting to resolve software issues during vehicle development and testing phases
