Brown and Caldwell's (BC) Salt Lake City office has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer/Resident Engineer with experience in construction of complex water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities. Candidate will work closely with members of the project team, including the Owner, BC CM group, subconsultants, multiple contractors, and design engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This Resident Engineering role provides technical oversight and leads the monitoring and documentation of construction activities on large construction projects, ensuring full compliance with approved plans, specifications, codes, and permits. This role leads site inspections, prepares and reviews detailed reports, and guides collaboration with contractors, engineers of record and project control team members. This role provides resolution of multifaceted field issues, supports contract administration through independent evaluation of change orders and payment applications, and ensures the integrity of project documentation and close-out processes. The role will leverage expertise to devise new techniques or approaches and frequently make decisions within assigned scope of responsibility, often taking on a lead or coordinating role within the team. Work is performed under minimum supervision with latitude for independent judgment. Work location will be in the Salt Lake City area, with ability to provide similar support for other local and regional clients.
