About The Position

This role will have multiple responsibilities as we are currently designing and building a pilot plant facility. This role will have two phases: during construction and during operations. The role will be very fast-paced and will require a significant amount of self-directed learning. There will be a senior role in Western Magnesium to grow into after the pilot plant operation is complete.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mechanical specialization
• Registered or ability to register as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Nevada
• 2–5 years of relevant experience, especially in metallurgical operations
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
• Strong digital literacy in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfortable making recommendations
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Capacity to work proactively and possess good time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a technical team-based environment

Nice To Haves

• Previous metallurgical pilot plant experience
• Industrial plant construction experience

Responsibilities

• Attend and contribute to Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies for the pilot plant design
• Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Daily management of the construction crew
• Lead morning toolbox talks
• Perform Hazard and Risk Assessments during the construction process
• Maintain project schedule and provide weekly updates to management
• Manage all work orders
• Manage all lockouts, confined space entries, and occupational hygiene
• Receive all deliveries
• Supervise the operations and maintenance teams
• Operate equipment when required
• Input and manage process data
• Assist in data analytics
• Optimize flowsheets
• Schedule and manage sample analysis with external laboratories
