About The Position

CMTA (formerly AMA Group), a Legence company, is seeking entry-level Project Engineers passionate about hands-on learning. This role offers opportunities for continuous growth, whether your interest lies in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing and Fire Protection design. You will perform routine engineering tasks under detailed instructions, gaining experience as projects increase in complexity. CMTA is known for sustainable, high-performance building systems and complex MEP/FP delivery, with a national portfolio in education, healthcare, and zero-energy projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • EIT preferred
  • Previous engineering internship, a plus
  • Knowledge of the latest version of MEP Auto CAD
  • REVIT experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in design and calculation software
  • MS Office Suite
  • Candidates must have current work authorization in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Become knowledgeable of system design and communicate design concepts via sketches and renderings.
  • Assist in the design of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing/fire protection systems based on field of study, using AutoCAD and Revit, for a variety of projects including corporate interiors, facilities infrastructure redevelopment, and Core and Shell new construction.
  • Mechanical engineers will become familiar with HVAC load programs.
  • Electrical engineers will become familiar with electrical load calculations, feeder voltage drops, lighting control design systems, Fire Alarm system design, etc.
  • Plumbing/Fire Protection engineers will assist in hydraulic calculations for sprinkler system design.
  • Learn how to identify, select, and specify equipment.
  • Learn how to interpret National and local building codes.
  • Attend and assist in surveys and/or construction field inspections, along with the review of contractor shop drawings.
  • Be exposed to the shop drawing and submittal process.
  • Meet project schedules and perform work within budget.
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
