About The Position

The Electronic Systems team in Hunt Valley is seeking a motivated, self-driven, and organized Project Engineer to join our Spectrum Portfolio. This interdisciplinary role involves supporting the full life cycle development of our solutions, including new product development, upgrades, integration and test, fielding, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, managing internal and external stakeholders, and working successfully within a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; graduate degree in engineering or management preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering programs.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in program planning, control account management, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead internal and external programmatic and technical reviews.
  • Experience in proposal development and basis-of-estimate review.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional planning efforts with Program Management to shape program strategy, schedule, and budget.
  • Drive resolution of schedule, resource, and technical conflicts across engineering teams.
  • Guide multi-discipline teams through unusually complex technical challenges and provide solution paths.
  • Manage and coordinate design, development, integration, and test activities across assigned projects.
  • Generate statements of work and manage subcontractor technical performance.
  • Collaborate with functional managers to organize, prioritize, and delegate key tasks.
  • Serve as primary technical interface between engineering teams, IPTs, Integrated Supply Chain, and customers.
  • Serve as primary technical point of contact for customers.
  • Prepare and present engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at major milestone reviews.
  • Chair (or delegate) change control boards responsible for project/product configuration control.
  • Oversee engineering support of system builds, outfitting, test, final delivery and sustainment.
  • Ensure delivery of technical artifacts including Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items.
  • Lead the development of proposals—including cost and technical content—and basis-of-estimate reviews for new business opportunities.
  • Develop discretionary funding plans and requests outlining program needs for successful execution.
  • Coordinate and communicate risks, issues, and tasking for all Spectrum related program activities.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management regarding critical risk acceptance.
