About The Position

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team has supported the Navy’s mission to provide affordable and credible strategic defense for over 60 years. This role offers unique career opportunities and challenges on a program with a rich history and exciting future, contributing to national security. The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, requiring expertise to deliver new technologies while maintaining strategic deterrence requirements. This Project Engineer position is for the FBM Avionics Team, focusing on planning and executing avionics work scope and program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 5+ years professional experience, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Project management experience in resource planning/allocation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; thus a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience in resource planning tools such as VEMO.
  • Prior project management experience and Control Account Management (CAM) experience.
  • Knowledge of program lifecycle and how early achievements may drive future costs.
  • Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in Business Rhythm creation and management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall accuracy of staffing data and performance, including updating and maintaining the Accurate Demand Signal and critical talent list.
  • Responsible for leading the fulfillment strategy for meeting the staffing needs of the Avionics directorate, maintaining directorate staffing strategy projections for planned allocations (intern conversions, internal transfers, upskilling, contract labor conversions, etc.).
  • Responsible for driving actions to closure on requisitions in a timely manner.
  • Support regular staffing business rhythms and provide regular status on Directorate staffing needs to the Program.
  • Collaborate and facilitate Directorate leadership engagement in related staffing events/initiatives.
  • Directorate-level staffing/seating coordination and EVM analysis.
  • Resource and assignment planning and reporting.
  • Business rhythm management and conduct.
