Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • An interest in commercial construction and the integration of design and construction.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively with a variety of people.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
  • Stay organized and composed when managing changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Take initiative, follow through on assignments, and accept responsibility for your work.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Interested in developing practical experience with construction processes, project management, scheduling, estimating, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting project delivery from early design and preconstruction through construction and final closeout.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and construction team members to support project coordination and execution.
  • Maintaining project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, contracts, meeting documentation, and other project records.
  • Assisting with the coordination of information between the design and construction teams to help ensure design intent is effectively carried through construction.
  • Supporting project cost tracking, including budgets, commitments, change orders, and other financial documentation.
  • Assisting with estimating, bidding, scope development, and subcontractor coordination during preconstruction.
  • Supporting project schedule development and maintenance, including tracking activities, identifying potential delays, and following up on outstanding items.
  • Assisting with procurement and project logistics, including tracking materials, equipment, and other project requirements.
  • Supporting field teams with project coordination and documentation as needed.
  • Participating in project meetings and assisting with meeting notes, action items, and follow-up.
  • Using construction and project management technology, including Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Copilot, and other applicable tools.
  • Taking on additional project responsibilities as assigned by the Project Engineer based on project needs and the intern’s skills and development.
  • Developing practical construction knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities through hands-on experience with an integrated design and construction team.
