Skanska is searching for a dynamic Project Engineering Intern for their 2027 Summer Project. The Project Engineer Intern assists and supports Project Managers and Superintendents on assigned projects, performing routine daily activities and gathering/distributing information under direct supervision and mentorship. Internship opportunities may include coordinating project activities, performing accounting and estimating functions with assistance, and other assigned duties. Skanska has also centralized its data center and semiconductor expertise into one agile, nationwide team to deliver advanced technology projects, focusing on modular, AI-ready, and sustainable infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects.
  • Knowledge of mathematics functions (geometry, basic algebra).
  • Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc).
  • Ability to perform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while effectively communicating and interacting with customers, clients, subcontractors, and other third parties.
  • Ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner in both written and verbal form.
  • Working towards a bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent through experience.
  • Currently, the company is not considering applicants for this position who now or in the future require employment sponsorship by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Assists and supports Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects.
  • Performs routine daily activities.
  • Gathers and distributes information.
  • Coordinating project activities with direct supervision from the Project and/or Operations Manager.
  • Performing accounting activities with assistance.
  • Performing estimating functions as requested with assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
