About The Position

The Project Engineer is a key technical lead involved throughout the entire lifecycle of a project, working closely with facility users to define needs and develop solutions that improve performance, reliability, and functionality. They coordinate with design and system engineers to create and implement technical solutions, while leading design development, reviews, and approvals. This role also collaborates with construction and execution teams, manages design changes, and ensures solutions continue to meet user needs at every phase. Additionally, the Project Engineer is responsible for project closeout, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and supporting a wide range of projects that contribute to national security and facility modernization efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum six (6) years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • Pass Project Engineering Oral Qualifications Test within 12 months
  • Qualify as Administrative Subcontract Technical Representative (AdSTR) within 3 months
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution

Responsibilities

  • Develop Statements of Need and Scopes of Work with PF-4 users
  • Support facility modifications, equipment upgrades, and improvements
  • Coordinate with engineers to develop technical solutions
  • Lead design development, reviews (30/60/90), and acceptance
  • Engage subject matter experts throughout execution
  • Coordinate with construction teams to implement designs
  • Manage change control and design deviations
  • Lead project closeout and maintain technical documentation
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to job functions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.
  • Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
