About The Position

The Project Engineer-Power Projects supports the planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and execution of power generation projects. This role serves as the technical liaison between engineering disciplines, project management, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and budget are achieved. The Project Engineer-Power Projects provides technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle and assists in coordinating engineering deliverables, resolving technical issues, and monitoring project progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Power Engineering
  • 3–10 years of experience in power generation, energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience supporting engineering and construction activities for large capital projects
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles and project execution processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Combined Cycle, Simple Cycle, Cogeneration, Renewable Energy, or Utility Power Projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Familiarity with EPC project execution

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities for power generation projects, review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documents, ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and regulations, support design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Assist Project Managers in planning and executing project activities, monitor project schedules and support progress reporting, track engineering deliverables and ensure timely completion, support management of project scope, risks, and technical changes.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between engineering teams, construction personnel, vendors, and clients, resolve technical issues arising during design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, evaluate technical proposals and recommend solutions, and review vendor submittments and equipment documentation.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications for major equipment, participate in vendor evaluations and bid reviews, coordinate technical clarifications with suppliers and contractors, and monitor manufacturing progress and support factory acceptance testing (FAT).
  • Provide engineering support during site construction activities, review Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical queries, assist with field engineering, issue resolution, and change management, coordinate design modifications and as-built documentation.
  • Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, support system turnover and startup readiness reviews, review commissioning procedures and test reports, and assist with performance testing and project closeout documentation.
  • Promote compliance with company safety policies and procedures, support quality assurance and quality control activities, participate in safety reviews, hazard assessments, and lessons learned programs.
