Job Summary Project Engineer II coordinates and supports operational engineering projects from initiation through completion, contributing to project planning, staffing, progress tracking, team coordination, and issue resolution. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with technical and quality standards. Shift: Mon - Fri (8:00 - 5:00 PM)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline
  • 2–4 years of experience in controls/automation engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of PLC logic, connectivity, and programming, with a focus on controls engineering rather than mechanical systems
  • Experience with electrical design and power distribution in automated environments
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, preferably in high-speed, fully automated production settings
  • Proven ability to support continuous improvement initiatives, particularly involving automation, controls, and process optimization
  • Ability to analyze, modify, and improve machine code and control systems to enhance equipment performance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with automated production lines, robotics, or high-speed assembly systems strongly preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered
  • Hands-on experience with automated equipment, robotics, or advanced assembly systems
  • Familiarity with material movement automation (e.g., warehouse or cleanroom environments) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and drive compliance with applicable regulatory and certification standards (e.g., ISO9000, ISO14000, AS9100, TÜV)
  • Drive continuous improvement through proactive methodologies and trend analysis
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of data collection methods used by teams
  • Assist with equipment setup, manufacturing layouts, and implementation of process changes or corrective actions
  • Help communicate engineering and manufacturing capabilities, identifying opportunities for improvement and responding to needs in a timely manner
  • Support quoting activities by contributing to initial process design, development, and implementation
  • Provide guidance and training on process development, root cause analysis, and systematic problem-solving
  • Review and improve inspection processes using appropriate tools and guidelines
  • Monitor internal, supplier, and customer discrepancies; coordinate and track corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintain and organize documentation, ensuring proper storage and accessibility
  • Collaborate with suppliers to support process improvements when possible
  • Provide technical support on quality-related issues with customers as needed
  • Assist design engineers with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) considerations
  • Recommend and implement best practices and innovative improvement ideas
