About The Position

Inside the Role Daimler Trucks North America continuously strives to remain at the forefront of innovation and drives the technology revolution. For our Autonomous Technology Group in Portland, OR, we are hiring a Project Coordinator to work with a team of project managers on our L4 Autonomous Cascadia vehicle project. The position is an individual contributor role and will have many challenging opportunities to learn, grow, and refine project management skills, as well as to build a broad network within Daimler Trucks. This position reports to Tim Piete, Project Leader, Autonomous Cascadia. The Autonomous Cascadia project strives to develop and commercialize the best-in-class Level 4 Cascadia together with our strategic software development partners Waymo and Torc Robotics. You will work together with global teams within the company and external partners to advance todays active safety systems to L4 highly automated driving systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college with 1 year of related experience OR an Associate’s Degree with 2 years of related experience or 6 years of related experience required
  • Excellent, proactive communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of management
  • Well organized with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Detail oriented, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity & ongoing change
  • Experience using Excel & Powerpoint
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new IT tools
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience giving presentations
  • Ability to produce results with minimal supervision, especially in a remote working environment

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • PMP certification
  • At least 1 year of cross-functional project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of DTNA products and vehicle development process (CVDS)
  • Experience with software development & release process
  • Experience using C-place, Sharepoint, IMACS
  • Experience working in Product or Validation Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Support development and launch of autonomous trucks at Daimler Trucks.
  • Support project management activities including: Schedule development, Scope definition & change management, KPI development & tracking against targets, Project budget development, Maintaining project documentation, including project Sharepoint site, schedules, project concerns and countermeasures, etc, Applying project management best practices, Supporting vehicle builds in the Truck Assembly Plant, Mfg Mockup Center and Product Validation, Coordinating and following-up on cross-functional activity within the project, Taking accurate meeting minutes, Interfacing with global counterparts & strategic partners, Providing direction to professional service team member(s) providing back office support.
  • Attend & facilitate project team meetings and represent the Project Management - Office in system development team meetings.
  • Serve as a delegate of the L5 project managers.
  • Prepare and present project management content in meetings.
  • Assist with workshop preparation & facilitation.
  • Lead work streams within the project.
  • Identify & implement continuous improvement opportunities for project management activities.
