About The Position

The Project Engineer II is responsible for supporting planning and execution of crane, rigging, and steel erection projects with increasing independence and accountability. This role is expected to contribute to technical planning, coordinate across teams, and support field execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. Superior Rigging and Erecting is a specialty crane, rigging, and steel erection contractor built on safety, discipline, and accountability. We execute complex industrial and commercial projects where precision, planning, and field performance must align without compromise. Our work involves critical lifts, engineered rigging operations, and high-risk environments where execution quality directly impacts safety and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• 3–7 years of relevant construction or engineering experience
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
• Experience coordinating with field operations and project teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel to jobsites as needed
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

Nice To Haves

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or progress toward licensure preferred
• experience with lift planning or engineering tools preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and support lift plans, work plans, and execution strategies
• Review drawings and specifications for constructability, sequencing, and risk
• Coordinate with Operations to align manpower, equipment, and project sequencing
• Support field execution through active jobsite engagement and issue resolution
• Identify and escalate risks, conflicts, and execution challenges
• Maintain project documentation, tracking, and reporting
• Support safety planning, job hazard analysis, and compliance efforts
