About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to design transportation projects that directly impact how people move through their communities every day. At HR Green, you will play a key role in delivering transportation infrastructure that connects communities and supports long term growth. This role, based in Springfield, MO, offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects to build your technical expertise, gain confidence, and expand your project ownership. You will be a key part of growing a collaborative team environment where mentorship, development, and meaningful project experience are part of our culture. Locally, you will have the opportunity to seek out, develop, support and guide junior team members and work closely with Project Managers to deliver impactful transportation projects. Furthermore, you will have the support of other offices and business lines to help you deliver work as you help develop and grow our local presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in civil engineering
  • Professional Engineer license in Missouri or ability to obtain within six months
  • At least four years of experience in civil or transportation engineering design
  • Experience with tools such as Open Roads Designer, MicroStation, or Civil 3D
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to a variety of challenges
  • Valid driver’s license in your state of residence

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with roadway, intersection, interchange, or pedestrian infrastructure design is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver transportation projects including roadways, intersections, interchanges, and pedestrian infrastructure
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship by responding to questions and supporting the development of junior engineers
  • Participate in quality reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with established QA and QC processes
  • Take ownership of engineering tasks and project components while ensuring alignment with project goals and standards
  • Identify and help resolve technical related challenges through effective communication
  • Respond to contractor questions and support construction phase activities including addenda and project updates
  • Contribute to proposal development, including scope, schedule, and cost estimates when applicable
  • Interact directly with Clients with written, verbal, and in person communication
