About The Position

Join a dynamic engineering team where your technical expertise directly drives customer confidence and product reliability. As a Project Engineer II focused on Field Failures, you will lead cross‑functional investigations, drive action plans, and keep programs moving with clear communication and structured execution. You’ll create and present technical findings to business leaders, customers, and suppliers, guide repair procedure development, and drive engineering changes that improve product performance. If you excel at problem‑solving, collaboration, and presenting complex information with clarity, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a measurable impact on safety, quality, and customer success. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • Experience creating clear, concise, and well-structured technical documents, reports, and proposals, including requirements, design details, and testing procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Teamcenter, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Excel experience.
  • Experience working across a highly matrixed organization, including team members, suppliers, and customers.
  • Experience with task detail planning, budget planning and project execution.
  • Continuous Improvement training or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Hold meetings, maintain a running action item list, and providing weekly status to engineering team and program office.
  • Create presentations together and presenting to the Collins Safety Board business leaders, customers and/or suppliers.
  • Create presentations and supporting Gate Review meetings with the customer.
  • Revise and release documents in the Collins System.
  • Create Engineering Authorizing (EA) documents and Technical Substantiation Documents (TSDs).
  • Conduct customer Gate Reviews.
  • Release repair procedure documents in the customer system.
  • Work with suppliers to validate the repair procedures.
  • Process Engineering Changes and/or new drawing releases.
