About The Position

AtkinsRealis USA Inc. seeks a Project Engineer I in Tampa, FL. This role involves observing construction work, preparing change orders, and interpreting contract requirements to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. The Project Engineer will advise the internal project manager and/or owner of any failures or delays, review pay requests for client payment, and make substantial and final completion statements. Additionally, they will review shop drawings within their area of expertise and perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor. The role may require working in various U.S. locations, with remote working permitted in all U.S. States according to company policy. Relocation to an area within a reasonable commuting distance of the job opportunity is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Academic training or work experience in AutoCAD
  • Academic training or work experience in MS project management
  • Academic training or work experience in Construction Materials and Processes
  • Academic training or work experience in Quality Control / Field Inspection
  • Academic training or work experience in Cost Analysis & Workflow Optimization
  • Academic training or work experience in Primavera P6
  • Academic training or work experience in Bluebeam
  • Academic training or work experience in Project Scheduling & Planning

Responsibilities

  • Observes construction work and prepares change orders as needed.
  • Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in substantial compliance with plans, specifications and special provisions.
  • Advises internal project manager and/or owner of any failures or delays.
  • Reviews pay requests for ultimate payment by client.
  • Makes substantial completion and final completion statements.
  • Reviews shop drawings within area of expertise for conformance with design concept.
  • Performs other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
