About The Position

This position operates with minimum supervision and instructions. Participate in design, quality, and cost reduction improvement projects to existing products. Along with new vendor validation and value-added parts consolidation projects. As a Project Engineer I you will: Interface with purchasing and vendors in the modification and approval of component parts. Construct and test prototype components or assemblies as required in the change Management, validation, and approval processes. Lead technical side of the project from the idea to the completion of the validation tests. Prepare written documentation of processes, material requirements, test results and project activity as required. Develop schedules, coordinate, and manage projects of minor to major size. Manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision. Prepare budgetary and resource information regarding projects or parts of projects in area of responsibility. Provide technical support to sales/marketing and manufacturing of new and existing products and processes. Design components for Medium Voltage switchgear per specification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering
  • 0-3 years of Engineering experience
  • 0-3 years of CAD experience in creating 3D models and 2D prints
  • Able to use small hand and power tools
  • Experience with desktop software such as MS Office (MSWord, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint & Access).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in CREO CAD System preferred.
  • Experience with PDM database system, Windchill preferred.
  • Experience with project management
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and computer analysis programs (FEA, kinematic & dynamic analysis).
  • Able to create innovative designs.
  • Good understanding of statics and material properties.
  • Able to read and interpret technical standards.
