About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Project Engineer/Control Account Manager (CAM) to join the SDA Portfolio supporting the SDA Systems Engineering team. This role involves leading, planning, budgeting, and managing the technical, schedule, and cost performance for the Systems Engineering team. The CAM will be at the intersection of engineering execution and program management, providing Chief Systems Engineers (CSEs) with real-time visibility into headcount, schedule, and cost performance across multiple programs. The position requires precision, clear communication, and a continuous improvement mindset. The Project Engineer will interact with a multi-disciplinary engineering team through development and production phases. The role may also include support for ROM and Proposal coordination, including BOE coordination and writing.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational and project implementations while managing schedules, budgets, and cost constraints.
  • Experience acting Control Account Manager (CAM) or CAM delegate.
  • Working knowledge or experience supporting proposal or Basis of Estimate (BOE) activities.
  • Experience with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and scheduling tools (e.g. MS Project, Open Plan).
  • Experience with earned value management principles and variance analysis.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or complex systems development environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, planning, budgeting, and managing the technical/schedule/cost performance for the Systems Engineering team.
  • Addressing headcount challenges and resource constraints.
  • Managing control account performance and elevating concerns/issues to program management and/or other impacted stakeholders.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities and implementing approved actions.
  • Managing resources, analyzing trends, and developing analytics to ensure credible schedules and Estimates at Complete (EACs).
  • Identifying and managing control accounts’ schedule health and critical path.
  • Analyzing and reporting variances and proactively implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensuring all EVM required documentation is complete and meets compliance requirements for responsible control accounts.
  • Ensuring current CAM certification and training is always maintained.
  • Providing support for other tasks to include ROM and Proposal coordination and input, which will include BOE coordination and writing.
