About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Project Engineer - Configuration Data Management to join the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team. This role involves coordinating the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects, with a focus on configuration and data management (CDM) processes, procedures, and tools. The candidate will support the FBM program's implementation of hardware documentation requirements and ensure a sound understanding of CDM life-cycle activities. This position requires close collaboration with program leaders and multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to achieve unified solutions that meet system performance, cost, and schedule requirements. The role includes analyzing proposed design changes, managing modification records, establishing change orders, and preparing documentation for both company and subcontractors. A key responsibility is ensuring customer requirements are met, approvals are captured, and compliance with configuration management policies is maintained. The candidate will also be responsible for the process of capturing and releasing classified documentation and models in accordance with DOD contracts, providing support for markings, formatting, and handling of documentation. General coordination and implementation of CDM requirements, policies, and practices for configuration identification (baseline documentation, hardware, and software) are also part of the role. Additionally, the candidate will manage the release process of documentation and process CDRLs/SDRLs according to contract specifications, and capture Electronic Data Files in both classified and unclassified areas, while handling classified documents.

Requirements

Experience in Configuration and Data Management (CDM) processes, procedures, and tools supporting the FBM program implementation of new and existing hardware documentation requirements.
Sound understanding of CDM life-cycle activities.
Management (CDM) and integrating and implementing CDM program requirements.
Understanding of Production and Development programs.
Demonstrated, or equivalent knowledge of Configuration Management hardware /design work.
Familiar reading and understanding Contracts.
Familiar working with CDRLs and SOWs.
Familiar working with Sub-Contractor SDRLs and SOWs.
US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and understands how to apply EIA-649, the National Consensus Standard for Configuration Data Management.
Able to handle classified data in a classified environment.
Experience with design and Product Data Management tools like/or similar tools to EPDM.
Works with SharePoint, LiveLink, or other workgroup collaboration tools.
Experience with electronic data vaulting and digital data handling using ePDM
Ability to quickly learn new tools and processes
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient with and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
Exposure/or training to drawing and/or CAD to facilitate drawing and model reviews.

Responsibilities

Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.
Plan and formulate the Engineering program.
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
Evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases.
Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
Work closely with program leaders and lead multiple IPTs to the best, unified solution that meets overall system performance requirements, cost, and schedule needs.
Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
Coordinate modification records for management control.
Establish change orders and prepare change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.
Review engineering change data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support manufacturing, and others.
Ensure customer requirements are implemented, approvals are captured, and compliant with configuration management policies.
Responsible for the process of capturing and releasing classified documentation and models in accordance with the DOD Contract.
Support FBM team members with markings, formatting, and handling of any documentation as necessary.
Provide general coordination and implementation of CDM requirements, policies, and practices pertaining to configuration identification (i.e. baseline documentation, hardware, and software) in accordance with business and contract requirements.
Responsible for release process of documentation, processing CDRLs/SDRLs in accordance with the Contract SOW, Subcontract’s SOWs, 1423s, and DD250s.
Responsible for capturing Electronic Data Files in classified and unclassified areas.
Responsible for handling classified documents.
Supports and process program design & change management production and development design information using LM Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) workflow, including the use and implementation of associated change objects such as Change Tasks (CTs), Change Requests (CRs), or Change Notices (CNs).
