About The Position

At TRIO Electric, we're building the next generation of construction leaders. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced Project Managers and field leaders while gaining hands-on experience managing commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an opportunity to develop your technical, operational, and leadership skills while working on some of the most exciting commercial construction projects in Houston. Whether your goal is to become a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Operations Leader, TRIO provides the training, mentorship, and experience to help you get there.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Ability to build relationships with field and office teams
  • Desire to learn commercial construction and project management
  • Comfortable visiting jobsites throughout the Houston area
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software (procore & bluebeam)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering ABET accredited school

  • Construction, engineering, project coordination, or related experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the successful planning, execution, and completion of commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Houston area.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and customers to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and running efficiently.
  • Work directly under a Project Manager on one or multiple projects.
  • Support project teams from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Coordinate project documentation, communications, and approvals.
  • Assist with project schedules, reporting, and tracking milestones.
  • Participate in project meetings and document action items.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
  • Track submittits, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Support procurement and material coordination efforts.
  • Monitor project progress and help identify potential risks or issues by completing a weekly progress report onsite.
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements.
