Project Engineer - Commercial Construction (Electrical)

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced Project Managers and field leaders while gaining hands-on experience managing commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout. Whether your goal is to become a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Operations Leader, TRIO provides the training, mentorship, and experience to help you get there.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through
- Ability to build relationships with field and office teams
- Desire to learn commercial construction and project management
- Comfortable visiting jobsites throughout the Houston area
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
Nice To Haves
- Construction, engineering, project coordination, or related experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Supporting project teams from preconstruction through project closeout
- Coordinating project documentation, communications, and approvals
- Assisting with project schedules, reporting, and tracking milestones
- Participating in project meetings and documenting action items
- Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Coordinating with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
- Tracking submittments, RFIs, permits, and project documentation
- Supporting procurement and material coordination efforts
- Monitoring project progress and helping identify potential risks or issues
- Assisting with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements
