About The Position

The Project Engineer - Capital Projects position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Boston area Outsourced Technical Services(OTS) team for a client in the Greater Boston area. Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) is an integral part of PM Group’s ability to support clients across the complete project life cycle. This role will be embedded on-site and responsible for supporting the execution of capital projects ranging from facility upgrades and equipment installations to large-scale process and infrastructure expansions. The Project Engineer will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, EHS, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related discipline)
  • 3–8+ years of experience supporting capital projects in a regulated industry
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with: GMP environments Project delivery methodologies (e.g., stage-gate, EPCM) Commissioning and qualification (CQV) processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to interface across multiple stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting facility expansions, utilities, or process equipment installations
  • Exposure to cleanroom environments and regulated manufacturing spaces
  • Knowledge of project controls tools (scheduling, cost tracking)
  • Previous experience in a client-side or embedded OTS/staff augmentation role

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of capital projects across the full project lifecycle (concept through commissioning)
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project scope and schedule
  • Assist in development and management of project documentation, including: Scope of Work (SOW) Technical specifications Change controls and RFIs
  • Track and report on project schedules, budgets, and key milestones
  • Participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities (CQV)
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Support procurement activities, including bid evaluations and vendor selection
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Quality, EHS) to ensure seamless project integration
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as needed
