This role requires project leadership experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC); Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG); Offshore/Topsides; or Power Generation. The Project Director provides direction and project management to ensure project completion in accordance with contractual obligations, defines project goals, and devises methods to accomplish them. They develop in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. The role involves planning, organizing, managing, and controlling projects within established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Worley. The Project Director supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders, exhibiting leadership skills necessary to achieve project goals. This position typically manages a single large or mega project or multiple, complex projects/programs with high risk elements. The ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to technical/functional projects is essential. A broad knowledge of business operations and the ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively within project scope are also key. Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals. The role typically manages work directly through project leads or other project managers and often serves as a proposal manager for large and mega projects.

Requirements

• Project leadership experience in one or more of the following areas: Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC); Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG); Offshore/Topsides; or Power Generation.
• University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Professional registration in local jurisdiction; Certified Program Management Professional by a globally recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM).
• Relevant supervisory experience, project management and/or technical experience.
• Workshare experience.
• EPCM, EPC including site assignments.
• Multi-Cultural / Multi-National environments.
• Demonstrated PM experience leading large and mega projects with high risk.
• Complex commercial engagements for project delivery including joint ventures.

Responsibilities

• Makes independent decisions and recommendations in the course of managing a significant size project.
• Develops and oversees implementation of strategic programs and policies for their groups, which may impact the region, location or large project.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects through others.
• Operates with broad management authority, receiving minimal technical guidance and control, limited only by project objectives and policies of the organization.
• Work is reviewed to ensure project direction meets customer standards.
• Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on large to mega sized projects.
• Reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
• May have direct and indirect reports and authority for performance evaluations impacting pay.
• May make recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of people.
• Expert understanding of broader systems, processes and tools related to field.
• Able to teach and help others.
• Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
• Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.
• May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools; Competent in Microsoft Access and Visio.
