LAUSD is building and modernizing schools across the District, and every one of those projects starts long before a shovel hits the ground. As a Project Development Manager, you run that front end: you plan and coordinate the pre-construction work for new school and modernization projects, own the scope, schedule, and budget across multiple projects at once, and carry each one through planning, design, and into construction. You direct the people who make the development phase move: Assistant Facility Development Managers, Design Managers, and outside design professionals. You resolve the complex planning, design, and construction issues that stall projects, review architect and engineer contract scopes, fees, and payment applications, and manage the overall finances of your projects. You coordinate with utility companies and government agencies to keep approvals on schedule, and you report project status, budget, and issues to District leadership up to Board representatives.
