About The Position

Johnson Controls is a global leader in building technologies, HVAC controls, and smart building solutions. We are looking for a Project Development Engineer/Pre Sales Engineer. You will be part of the GCOE team and will work in a vibrant environment focused on expanding our footprint and customer base, while supporting strong growth objectives through high-quality technical and commercial proposals. As a Project Development Engineer / Pre Sales Engineer, you will use your building automation and controls expertise to prepare competitive bids and proposals that meet customer specifications. You will manage technical clarifications, estimate project costs, and support multiple tenders at the same time to help secure new business across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building automation, controls, pre-sales, estimation, or retrofit project support.
  • Strong technical knowledge in CPO/CPM retrofit offerings.
  • Strong technical knowledge in HVAC controls design optimization for retrofit projects.
  • Experience preparing bids, RFIs, quotations, and cost estimates for multiple projects or tenders.
  • Negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Visio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Understanding of the UAE controls service and retrofit business.
  • Valid UAE driving license.
  • Result-oriented, tenacious, self-motivated, and customer-focused approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Johnson Controls METASYS or equalenet product experience.
  • Arabic language skills.
  • CEM certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bid and proposal submissions based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
  • Prepare RFIs and support clarification responses throughout the tender process.
  • Attend site surveys and bid-clarification meetings to gather accurate project information.
  • Request and review quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Estimate in-house product costs, engineering effort, labor, and project management costs.
  • Manage multiple tenders simultaneously and ensure submissions are competitive and on time.
  • Coordinate with clients on specifications, technical clarifications, and proposal alignment.
  • Support the controls service and retrofit business with a strong focus on commercial accuracy and technical compliance.
