Project Development Electric Utilities Project Manager
About The Position
Boswell is seeking a Utilities Project Development Project Manager to oversee electrical infrastructure projects, such as substations and transmission or distribution lines, from inception through the pre-construction phase. The role manages project scope, schedule, and budget to mitigate risk and ensure constructability before projects are released to other project managers for construction. The position is part of the Power & Energy/Electric Utilities department and is hybrid, with meetings at the New Jersey office and client sites as needed. The role is based at Boswell HQ in South Hackensack, New Jersey.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or Construction Management.
- At least 4 years of related experience in project management, engineering, finance, or electric utility transmission/distribution oversight directly supporting electrical utility projects.
- Current U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required by the client for site access.
- Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera or MS Project, Microsoft Office, Power BI, and SAP data mining.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, analytical ability, time management, and ability to present complex data to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project scopes, refine budget estimates, and balance the 10-year capital portfolio.
- Oversee the project development phase to ensure constructability, manage risks, and follow internal project lifecycle management processes.
- Perform financial analysis and cost forecasting, and mine data using enterprise systems.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and leadership to communicate portfolio goals, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Champion a safety culture and ensure environmental and regulatory compliance and alignment with company standards.
