Project Developer (Residential Remodeling)
About The Position
Murphy Bros. Design|Build|Remodel is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Project Developer to join their sales team. This role is the first point of contact for new clients, responsible for responding to leads, guiding clients through a four-step sales process, and managing the project from initial contact through the construction phase. The Project Developer will conduct sales calls, site visits, and collaborate with clients, trade partners, and internal teams to develop scopes of work, budgets, plans, 3D renderings, material selections, and contracts. The goal is to provide homeowners with a remodeling experience that is steady, carefully planned, and collaborative.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in residential remodeling, estimating, design, and/or project management
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A proven track record of success in sales
- Solid understanding of construction materials, techniques, and costs, plus familiarity with building codes and regulations
- Ability to read blueprints, analyze project requirements, and develop accurate cost estimates
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality

Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to new leads and execute consultative sales techniques
- Guide clients through Murphy Bros.' proprietary sales process
- Recommend remodeling solutions that genuinely solve clients' needs
- Set and hit annual sales and gross margin goals, and meet prescribed closing ratios
- Solicit, collect, and review trade partner bids
- Develop accurate cost estimates and maintain estimated-to-actual job cost accuracy
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with trade partners throughout the project
- Assemble and create well-written contracts and scopes of work
- Create, or provide direction on, construction plans
- Ensure project plans, budgets, bids, selections, and scope stay in alignment
- Bring design acumen and intuition to the table and collaborate with our design team
