About The Position

Genesis AEC is seeking an energetic and motivated Project Designer with a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn. This role offers the opportunity to be mentored and trained by industry experts in a collaborative environment where your contributions are valued. You will gain experience necessary to pass the ARE (Architect Registration Examination) while working on diverse projects. The position involves developing project documents, assisting with conceptual designs, coordinating with project teams, learning best practices for integrated design, and participating in project reviews. You will also attend department meetings, review shop drawings, assist with field inspections, research advanced software for architectural processes, and manage multiple projects concurrently. Client-facing responsibilities include attending client meetings to understand client relationships and the impact of office work on client-facing staff, and eventually serving as the architectural designer on select projects. Strategically, you will learn and embody the company's vision and mission.

Requirements

  • BS in Arch, BArch, or MArch
  • 0-6 years of experience, will consider candidates with previous internships, co-ops, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite software
  • A team approach and positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Revit software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop project documents for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
  • Assist in the development of conceptual designs and prepare preliminary design sketches.
  • Coordinate with the team, including other project disciplines and external team members, under the direction of the architectural project lead.
  • Learn and implement best practices and procedures for an integrated design approach to create design solutions.
  • Participate in the review outcome of completed design projects to learn about opportunities to improve productivity, profitability, and outcomes.
  • Attend department meetings to learn about the multiple facets of our work from associated Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and understand their roles within the department.
  • Review shop drawing submittals with guidance from the Project Architect.
  • Attend field site inspections and assist in developing associated follow-up documentation (e.g., field reports, punchlists).
  • Participate in the research and development of methods and processes that utilize advanced software to help inform and optimize architectural work processes.
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Attend client meetings with the assigned project lead to learn about client relationships.
  • Learn an awareness of how the work done in the office impacts our client-facing staff.
  • Grow client base through the delivery of excellent services.
  • Serve as the architectural designer on select projects, maintaining internal and external relationships to ensure project success.
  • Learn the company’s vision and mission and embody it in your work.
