About The Position

We are seeking a talented and collaborative Project Designer, Interiors to lead design efforts on small to mid-sized projects. This role involves driving concept development, producing high-quality design deliverables, and ensuring design intent is carried through construction. Working closely with Senior Designers and Design Principals, you will shape innovative interior environments while managing project timelines, budgets, and team coordination. This position is based in our San Jose, California office and is eligible for a hybrid (office/remote) working arrangement and flexible working hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in architectural or interior design
  • Strong understanding of design and construction documentation processes
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Lead interior design efforts from concept through construction administration
  • Prepare and coordinate design presentations, plans, elevations, and detailed drawings
  • Ensure alignment between design intent and construction documentation
  • Review documents for quality, code compliance, and coordination across all project phases
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop and implement design solutions
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and workflow for small to mid-sized projects
  • Support material selection, value analysis, and cost alignment
  • Oversee design changes and resolve project-related challenges
  • Guide and mentor junior staff; may supervise 1-3 team members
  • Assist with proposals, RFP responses, and client presentations/interviews
  • Contribute to project profitability through effective resource management and cost awareness
