About The Position

The Project Cost Specialist is an intermediate-level professional role and requires an expanded level of knowledge and experience of professional practice in this discipline, representing the first degree of progression from an entry-level role. The Project Cost Specialist is responsible for leading cost management, forecasting, financial performance analysis, and cost governance across assigned projects and programs. Acting as a trusted business partner to Project Managers, Functional Managers, Commercial teams, Finance, and Senior Leadership, the role provides accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support effective decision-making and successful project outcomes. You'll lead the stakeholder engagement for the project and ensure accurate reporting of all financial information including variance analysis reports for the business. Importantly, you'll measure the health of the program against the cost and project budgets.

Requirements

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Good experience with IFS
  • Some exposure to Cost Control
  • Diploma in Project Management, Business, Accounting or similar
  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
  • Current AU Drivers Licence

Nice To Haves

  • Project Finances experience
  • Finance or Project Management qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
