Traveling- Project Controls Specialist- MEP Division
About The Position
NexGen Contracting is seeking a Project Cost Controls Specialist for its MEP Division. This project-based travel position provides cost analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting for construction projects. The specialist implements corporate cost-control measures, tracks project expenses, prepares cost reports, and supports project teams in managing budgets. The role calls for a proactive, analytical individual who can work in a fast-paced environment and is committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence. The position is generally performed in a normal office environment with moderate noise and controlled temperature and humidity. Travel is part of the project-based role, and overtime may be required. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- At least an associate degree from a two-year college or university in Business or Engineering.
- At least one year of jobsite construction experience.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Primavera Scheduling Software.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project cost controls.
- Monitor, evaluate, and update project cost data against budgeted amounts.
- Generate project progress charts and cost reports.
- Support forecasts of time and cost problems by providing trending information.
- Develop and execute measurement systems to process and analyze data and identify improvements.
- Develop and update resource-loaded construction schedules.
- Verify scope changes and estimate costs using contract terms.
