About The Position

Parsons is seeking a talented Project Coordinator to join their team, focusing on onboarding and workforce-readiness activities for new employees joining the Parsons T5 Program. This role is particularly important for field personnel who will undertake mobile, travel-based assignments after onboarding. The Project Coordinator will act as a central point of contact, liaising with hiring teams, new employees, Program Management, Field Management, HR, security, and travel support to ensure a smooth and successful start for each new hire. The position requires regular in-person support in the Kansas City area, so candidates should reside within a reasonable driving distance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, human resources, communications, organizational management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience in project coordination, program support, workforce operations, onboarding, staffing, business operations, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple employees, activities, schedules, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and status information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with new employees, managers, executives, and functional organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, filters, tables, charts, and data organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and other standard business applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify coordination problems, determine appropriate follow-up actions, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately elevate significant risks or concerns.
  • Ability to handle employee, candidate, customer, and business information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to support in-person onboarding activities in the Kansas City area and reside within a reasonable driving distance of Kansas City.
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by federal authorities may be performed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the transition of newly hired employees from the hiring process through onboarding, orientation, workforce readiness, and deployment to their initial field assignments.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new employees before their start, ensuring they understand onboarding schedules, travel expectations, required documentation, training, and other readiness requirements.
  • Coordinate onboarding cohorts and sessions in the Kansas City area, including schedules, participant rosters, meeting space, program presentations, materials, and other logistical requirements.
  • Work with internal teams to coordinate employee travel requirements, including flights, hotels, rental vehicles, and other arrangements necessary for onboarding and transition to field assignments.
  • Coordinate with Program Management and Field Management to ensure new employees receive appropriate program introductions, job expectations, policies, procedures, safety information, travel requirements, and field-work guidance.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding trackers, employee status reports, schedules, action-item logs, and workforce-readiness information.
  • Identify missing information, schedule conflicts, delayed actions, or other potential onboarding issues and work across organizations to resolve them before they affect employee start dates or field deployment.
  • Coordinate handoffs between Talent Acquisition, onboarding teams, field leadership, and project teams to ensure employees are properly assigned and prepared for their initial work locations.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, presentations, and status updates for Program Management and business leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement of onboarding processes, templates, communications, checklists, and coordination practices as hiring volume and program needs evolve.
  • Plan and coordinate multiple onboarding activities simultaneously while maintaining a professional and responsive experience for new employees.
  • Take ownership of assigned coordination challenges and special projects, engage the appropriate stakeholders, and drive actions through completion.
  • Provide broader project-coordination and program-office support for workforce initiatives and other emerging program priorities as assigned.
